New international photography courses from Travel Photographer of the Year

The travel and photography experts behind the prestigious international Travel Photographer of the Year competition (www.tpoty.com ) have announced a new series of overseas photography trips. The programme includes something for everybody, whether they’re fans of history, culture, citylife, wildlife, natural beauty or eco-adventure. The trips offer superb vacations combined with expert tuition from award-winning photographers Chris Coe, Nick Meers and Chris Weston. 



TPOTY international courses are organised by specialist travel companies African Safari Roots, High & Wild, Intrepid Travel and YokmoK Adventures, so participants have the reassurance of knowing that there is expertise behind every element of the trip.

ECO-ADVENTURE:

Honduras (August 22nd-September 4th, 2008) Central America’s newest eco-destination, Honduras has it all. Lost Mayan temples, majestic cloud forests, thundering waterfalls, dazzling Caribbean beaches, deep jungle waterways, little-known tribal communities, and an outstanding array of wildlife. It’s a photographer's paradise. This 14-day trip costs £1299 for twin-share, £1549 for single (excluding international flights).



HISTORY AND CULTURE:


Cambodia & Vietnam (December 2nd-15th, 2007) In addition to the architectural wonders of the Khmer temples, participants will have the opportunity to photograph the people, history, food and landscape of these two amazing countries.Highlights include Siem Reap and the Khmer temples of Angkor Wat, the Spider Village, Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City. This trip costs £2315 for twin-share, £2675 for single (excluding international flights).



People & Culture of Japan (13th-26th May, 2008) Temples and geishas; tradition and religion; iconic landscapes; cherry blossom; snow monkeys; architecture old and new; city life and intriguing people: And then there's Tokyo...This trip costs £2950 for twin-share, £3030 for single (excluding international flights).



AFRICAN WILDLIFE:


These safaris will be tutored by award-winning wildlife photographer Chris Weston and award-winning travel photographer Chris Coe.



The first is a nine-day Northern Tanzania Wildlife Course in March 2008. Participants will travel to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, enjoy offbeat cultural experiences with the Maasai, and witness and photograph a host of spectacular wildlife.



The second is a 10-day Great Migration trip in July 2008. At this time of year, thousands of Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelle, Topi and many other hoofed species head to the lush plains and rivers of the western corridor and northern Serengeti, chaotically stampeding in search of new pastures and survival. This trip will give wildlife lovers the chance not only to witness one of nature's most spectacular events, but also to photograph it, with expert tuition.
 


The Northern Tanzania Wildlife Photography Course and Great Migration Course cost £2,395 and £2,727 per person respectively (excluding international flights). 
 


ALPINE ADVENTURES:


Mountains and Snow - Alpine Landscapes (April 24th-30th, 2008) Spring in Switzerland provides the perfect backdrop for landscape and travel photography and nowhere is more striking than Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn, the Alpine meadows bursting into spring colour whilst the high peaks still retain their snowy profile. This trip includes one all day shoot overnighting in the highest hotel in the Swiss Alps, to capture sunset and sunrise across the peaks. Price: £1,440 per person (excluding international flights).


Mont Blanc Adventure (July 1st-7th, 2008) 
In early summer the Mont Blanc Massif affords amazing photographic opportunities and grand panoramas to tempt both landscape and travel photographers. This trip is based in Chamonix, a vibrant town with a long history and some fascinating architecture. It includes an all day shoot overnighting in a mountain refuge, so the group can capture both sunset and sunrise across the peaks. Price: £1,430 per person (excluding international flights).
